At first glance, a rebrand can simply look like a new logo, a new website, and a new color palette. While these are all important features of a new brand identity, there was a lot more that went into the thinking and vision behind our rebrand at Catalyst. It was also about making sure our brand reflects the company we’ve become over the years.

Catalyst has been helping government organizations solve technology challenges for more than 34 years. During that time, we’ve grown, adapted, and continuously refined the way we serve our clients. Our previous brand had been with us since 2019, and while it represented Catalyst well, our company had continued to evolve.

Like many organizations, there came a point where our external brand no longer fully matched the experience clients were having when they worked with us.

Over the past 18 months especially, Catalyst has entered a new chapter. We’ve expanded our leadership team, experienced significant growth, and continued to strengthen our role as a trusted consulting partner for government organizations across North America.

Historically, we’ve positioned ourselves as a small, nimble, and approachable business. Those qualities remain an important part of who we are today. Our size allows us to stay close to our clients, respond quickly, and build genuine relationships throughout every engagement. However, that isn’t the whole story.

Today, Catalyst brings decades of experience, deep consulting expertise, and the ability to lead complex modernization initiatives from strategy through implementation. We wanted our brand to communicate not only that we’re approachable, but also that we’re polished, experienced, and confident in the value we bring to every client engagement.

We’ve always been strong technologists, but we’re equally experienced as consultants and advisors. We help clients navigate difficult decisions, modernize critical systems, and deliver technology that creates lasting value. That evolution deserved a brand that better reflects the organization we’ve become.

Of course, what hasn’t changed is just as important as what has.

From the beginning, Catalyst has believed that great consulting starts with great relationships. We pride ourselves on being approachable, responsive, and easy to work with while holding ourselves to an exceptionally high standard of delivery. Around Catalyst, there’s a phrase we hear often: Treat every customer like they’re our only customer. That mindset has shaped our culture for decades and continues to guide the way we work today.

As we talked about what this new brand should represent, the same themes surfaced repeatedly: excellence, no shortcuts, white-glove service, approachability, and a genuine passion for helping governments use technology to better serve their communities. Those ideas were not created during a branding workshop. They already existed within Catalyst. The rebrand simply gave us a better way to express them.

We also want to recognize the fantastic team at Cultivate, who partnered with us to shape this rebrand and bring our new website to life. Their collaboration, creativity, and attention to detail played an important role in helping us translate our vision into a brand that truly reflects who we are today.

When clients, partners, and prospective employees see our new brand, we hope their first impression is simple: These folks have their stuff together.

Not because of a logo or a website, but because every interaction with Catalyst reflects the same level of professionalism, care, and attention to detail. Whether we’re guiding a large-scale modernization effort or helping solve an everyday challenge, we want our brand to represent the experience people can expect when they work with us.

At the end of the day, this isn’t about becoming a different company. It’s about better representing the one we’ve been building for more than three decades. Our new brand reflects where Catalyst is today, while staying true to the values that have been with us since day one. As we continue to grow, it’s a brand we’re proud to carry into the future.
